EXPLORER POST 599 ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
September is the month when we say good bye to our old slate of officers and elect new ones for the coming season. On Tuesday, September 12th, we did just that. The results are as follows:
| President | Fletcher Holmquist | WB7CUE |
| Vice President | Stan Voynick | WB7RPG |
| Treasurer | Tony Martineau | WB7PZH |
| Secretary | Brian Rackham | WA7ZHJ |
| Advisor | Wm. F. Nibouar | WA7SKJ |
| Ass't Adv. | John Brown | K7WMG |
As the old officers leave, we all wish to thank them for a job well done in serving the Post. We especially want to thank Elizabeth Aguilar, WA7WXA, whose truly undying efforts helped the Post grow from five members in March to almost thirty today.
POST 599 HAS NEW ADVISOR AND ASSISTANT ADVISOR
Last month, Jim Hartwell, K7UDG, resigned as Post Advisor for personal as well as buisness/professional reasons. Jim, who took over the spot from Bill Berke WA7NXI in March, did so much for the good of the Post that it would be impossible to list all of his contributions here. Suffice it to say that we couldn't have made the Post work without him. We ALL thank you Jim and wish the best and hope you will stay as active as you can in the Post.
Our new Advisor, Bill Nibouar WA7SKJ, is a police officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, and enjoys working with youth. We welcome him and hope he will enjoy his experiences with the Post.
John Brown, K7WMG, who is a chemist with the Phoenix Clinical Research Section of the National Institute for Arthritis, Metabolism and Digestive Diseases (Department of Health and Welfare) will be the Assistant Advisor. John had been associated with scouting and with another Explorer Post for many years and will contribute much toward making the Post a continuing success.
OCTOBER ACTIVITIES
In October, the Post plans to complete the T-hunt antennas which we began in August, and hope to have a hunt on 146.52 MHz or the Post's simplex frequency.
Future activities include campouts, a booth at Thomas Mall, and participation in some of the contests. Anyone interested in joining the Post and taking part in its planned activities or in assisting in any way should call our President Fletcher Holmquist WB7CUE or our advisors. The appropriate phone numbers will always be found on the inside front cover (page 2) of each issue of Arizona Desert AIRE Waves. - - Contributed by Brian Rackham, WA7ZHJ - -
