Natural Attractions
Oregon Coast - Astoria and Seaside are about 90 minutes away. Quaint sea towns with sandy beaches. In Astoria, consider climbing to the top of the Astor
Column, take a Riverfront trolley for views of beautiful Victorian homes, see Fort Clatsop (winter quarters for Lewis & Clark), check out the ship wreck of the Peter Iredale
at Fort Stevens. Seaside is a popular resort town. Visit the aquarium and the museum. Check out the historic salt works where Lewis & Clark's men made salt.
Take a day trip to Mt. St. Helens, the site of the 1980 volcanic eruption.
Drive the Historic Columbia River Byway (Hwy 30). It is a slow road, but the scenery is beautiful. Take time to hike to a few of the waterfalls!

There is something interesting for everyone here. Lots about Lewis & Clark, and the Oregon Trail. Mount Hood & Timberline lodge. Antique hunting at Sellwood.
Portland is a great city to walk around too. The kids will enjoy the Portland Zoo and OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) is a must!
